Legacy Weekend: 2025

We are excited to announce the 5th Annual First Tee – North Florida Legacy Weekend featuring the Community Game Changer Awards Dinner and the Chip Trefry Memorial Golf Tournament honoring the First Tee’s dear friend, dedicated volunteer leader, and life-long ambassador to the game of golf. Please join us at San Jose Country Club on September 13th for the Game Changer Awards Dinner followed by the Chip Trefry Memorial Golf Tournament on September 14th to help us make a difference in the lives of the young people engaged in the First Tee programs.
Tournament and Dinner proceeds will support a $20,000 college scholarship that will provide educational opportunities to participants who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and/or excellence through First Tee – North Florida. As Mr. Trefry was, the recipients are identified as potential leaders in their community and have a strong character foundation.

Honoring a True Game Changer
This year’s Community Game Changer Award will be presented to Ms. Anne Nimnicht in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to public service, volunteer leadership, and lasting contributions to Northeast Florida. Anne’s impact spans more than five decades of dedicated service, including her historic achievement as the first woman to serve as General Chairman of THE PLAYERS Championship — and the only person to have chaired a PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, and Web.com Tour event.
A passionate advocate for youth, education, and community advancement, Anne has supported numerous charitable causes and remains a proud supporter of First Tee – North Florida. Her efforts have helped expand access to life-changing opportunities through golf for young people throughout our region.
Join us on Saturday, September 13th, at the 5th Annual Game Changer Awards Dinner as we celebrate Anne Nimnicht’s legacy of leaving the world better than she found and honor her remarkable influence on the game of golf and the Northeast Florida community.
