Please join us at San Jose Country Club on September 13th for the Chip Trefry Memorial Golf Tournament followed by the Game Changer Awards Dinner on September 14th to help us make a difference in the lives of the young people engaged in the First Tee programs.

Tournament and Dinner proceeds will support a $20,000 college scholarship that will provide educational opportunities to participants who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and/or excellence through First Tee – North Florida. As Mr. Trefry was, the recipients are identified as potential leaders in their community and have a strong character foundation.

Community Game Changer Award

This year’s Community Game Changer Award will be given to Dr. Arthur “Buster” Browning Jr., a distinguished family medicine specialist and dedicated sports physician. Dr. Browning exemplifies an extraordinary commitment to public service, community involvement, and a profound impact on the world of sports medicine.

Dr. Browning’s legacy transcends his remarkable medical career. His unwavering dedication to treating PGA TOUR professionals, his extensive volunteer work, and his leadership in numerous charitable organizations have left an indelible mark on the golfing community and beyond. We hope you join us Saturday, September 14th to honor Dr. Browning for his significant contributions to sports medicine and his lasting positive influence on our local community.

Earl “Chip” Trefry, Jr. College Scholarship

We have awarded the 2nd recipient of the Earl “Chip” Trefry, Jr. College Scholarship to Katarina Hoag, a First Tee- North Florida participant. She plans to attend Chip’s alma mater, the University of Florida, and is paving the way for more girls’ involvement in golf. Katarina has shown perseverance and leadership skills, has a solid academic record (4.0 GPA), and has a heart for community service, all of which make her a deserving recipient.
