Youth Programs
Weekly Classes
By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with character-building, we create learning experiences that help kids uncover their inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that they can carry into everything they do. Classes meet once per week for eight weeks with each class lasting 1-1.5 hours.
After-School Classes
We partner with schools to offer two types of after-school classes for students: on-campus classes coordinated through school extended day programs; and off-site classes at nearby golf facilities. In both environments, coaches will introduce basic golf fundamentals through fun, engaging games, along with First Tee life skills concepts. Equipment is provided.
Tournament Series
First Tee – North Florida offers various tournaments throughout the year as part of a series. Points are collected from each tournament based on participation and standings. The tournaments are designed for participants to challenge themselves in a competitive environment while showcasing the skills learned in the seasonal classes.
Playing Lessons with a Coach
This program readies intermediate golfers for weekend play by instructing them on safety, pace of play, and rules/etiquette. Through experienced coaching and hands-on 9-hole sessions, participants gain confidence and a deeper appreciation for the sport, ensuring they navigate the course with proficiency and enjoyment.
Camps
We offer several types of camps including Single-Day Camps, Winter Camps, Spring Break Camps, and Weekly Summer Camps. While there, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of the game of golf while seamlessly learning the importance of goal-setting, growing through challenges, and building a positive self-identity.
LPGA*USGA Girls Golf
The LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program provides girls, ages 5-18, with the opportunity to learn golf, create friendships and experience competition in a supportive and fun environment. Girls not only learn how to play the game of golf but they discover life lessons that will help them face their future as confident and empowered individuals.
Pathfinder Program (Teens)
These opportunities allow teens to elaborate on, apply, and extend developing ideas and skills of both golf and character through activities on and off the course. As teens learn more about who they are and what they are capable of, they can begin to look toward the future and plan their own paths.
Special Events
Through special events, First Tee participants have the opportunity to engage in activities designed to help them further develop as individuals and assets to their communities. The four types of special events we offer are golf experiences, life and career development activities, community service projects, and exploration of educational opportunities.
First Tee App
The First Tee App gives participants supplemental e-learning content that will bring concepts taught during class to life in new ways. It uses gamification elements like “badging” to motivate participants to complete lessons and challenges, and tracks their progress throughout their First Tee participation.
College Scholarships
First Tee – North Florida awards scholarships each year to participants who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to First Tee and looking to continue their educational career beyond high school. Applicants should complete one application and the scholarship committee will award each scholarship based on overall scores. The application deadline is March 31, 2024.
